Job Description
HireLevel. is looking for CNC Machinist in Staunton, IL!
Our client in rural Staunton Illinois is currently seeking candidates with the ability to setup and operate conventional lathes, mills, and grinders to produce accurate parts. The ideal candidates must be able to program, setup, and operate CNC equipment that includes 3 and 4 axis machining centers, multi-axis turning centers, and wire EDM; as well as the mindset of working with a positive attitude in a team oriented environment!
Job Type: Full Time, Temp to Hire || Benefit package once taken temp to hire!
Location: Staunton, IL
Compensation: $20-$26/hr based off experience
Hours: Monday - Friday || 7:00am - 3:30pm; overtime as needed
Responsibilities of a CNC Machinist:
- Review blueprints, sketches, manuals and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements
- Process work operations, holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials on machines to produce required parts
- Calculate and set control to regulate machining speeds, feeds, depths and angle of cut
- Enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control data based on guidelines and procedures
- Perform routine machine maintenance as required
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspections tools as necessary

Requirements of a CNC Machinist:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Accurately track, record and enter job hours into tracking system
- Strong mechanical and assembly knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
Education or Experience of a CNC Machinist:
- Conventional machining experience
- Knowledge in G and M codes
- Fabrication and welding skills preferred
- Associates degree from two year college or technical school
