Pay: $17/hr. (Benefits offered after first 90 days of employment)

Responsibilities of the Electrician:
  • Repair, install, modify and troubleshoot electrical distribution and control equipment.
  • Wire and install electrical components, switch gear, electrical switches and electronic instruments and devices, such as: programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data loggers, relays, breakers and other electronic instrumentation equipment used in the manufacture and repair of electrical power stations and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and make necessary repairs
  • Conduct electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions
  • Determine reparability and cost to repair equipment, refurbish equipment and, replace defective parts
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance

Requirements for the Electrician:
  • Prefers 2 year electrical technician certificate from an accredited college or technical school, and two years electrical technical experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Industrial knowledge of practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the design, manufacture, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of electrical equipment and devices common to a large complex electrical power stations.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical testing and safety procedures; experience in calibrating and repairing a wide variety of electrical and equipment and instrumentation devices.
  • Operate and maintain various electrical tools, testing devices, meters, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; frequently stand; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, walk; frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
