This position will be operating and maintaining all utilities equipment and assisting with routine control and patrol operator duties.

Job Title: Millwright

Job Category: Full-time, 3 Month Contract

Location: Lake County, IL

Hours: Monday Friday, 8AM 5PM

Job Responsibilities of the Millwright:
  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of all utility systems including sub-systems, major pieces of equipment, and all supporting equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, etc., and all associated control systems
  • Operate and maintain all utilities equipment / systems independently under the general supervision of the utilities group leader, operations section manager or utilities manager.
  • Routinely perform and/or direct all patrol and control operator duties of the utility trainee and / or utility operator.
  • Perform both control and patrol operator duties in rotational assignments.
  • Perform specific tasks including all duties of the utility trainee and utility operator.
  • Observe and respond appropriately to all alarm systems and provide troubleshooting if necessary
  • Assist in rounds to inspect and provide maintenance to various remote utility sites
  • Provide collecting, sampling, and testing of qualified water systems as needed
  • Monitor and assist in troubleshooting building systems in conjunction with facilities and maintenance personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements of the Millwright:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years experience with steam, chilled water, compressed air, various water systems
  • At least 1 year of experience as a utility operator
  • Must have at least six months on-the-job training in conducting safety and quality assurance tests/inspections on utilities streams
  • Must demonstrate a broad knowledge of utilities systems and ability to train less experienced personnel
  • Must show ability to react quickly and properly to emergencies (such as loss of steam air, refrigeration, potable water, chilled water, etc.)
  • Ability to meet client's background and drug screen requirements
