Additional Responsibilities of Accounting and Payroll Specialist:
Daily Accounts payables and receivables to include accurate posting of vendor bills; working with vendors' information to create, update, and address vendor issues/questions; invoicing; monthly vendor payments; maintaining company profile binders; collections.
Cash management functions to include preparing weekly check run; ach payments; daily banking functions as assigned.
Running reports to include month-end, aging, monthly budgets, balance sheet reconciliations and compiling various information per departmental requests.
Manage Paycor system for time tracking and payroll, serving as liaison between Human Resources and Accounting.
Maintain payroll system.
Process payroll bi-weekly for employees.
Account receivable invoicing which may include:
Process special billing every month.
Prepare career transition invoices.
General office duties.
Special projects when available.
Must maintain a working knowledge of departmental and company accounting policies and procedures and be able to apply this knowledge to daily activities.
Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements of Accounting and Payroll Specialist:
Basic accounting knowledge; Associate s degree in Accounting preferred, experience will work in place of degree.
Three to five years of progressive experience in accounting or related field.
Experience processing payroll using payroll technology; experience with Paycor highly regarded.
Strong organization skills and detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy work atmosphere
Self-starter, self-motivated to solve daily problems and think outside the box.
Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Experience in small business environments with various functions and expectations.
Able to establish a positive rapport with vendors, coworkers and supervisors.
Excellent problem-solving skills, computer skills and attention to details, proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productivity applications and working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of financial concepts, including plan, budget and P&L statements.
Ability to work overtime at month end if needed.
Must meet clients background and drug screening requirements.
