Job Description

HireLevel is seeking a leader for a Director of Marketing in the fitness industry in the St. Louis, MO area! We're searching for an experienced Director responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans for our company to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. This role requires a mix of analytical thinking, strategic planning, and creativity, paired with an understanding of the health and fitness industry. The perfect candidate will be a highly data-driven marketer with strategic and tactical expertise across e-commerce and performance marketing channels. The Marketing Director will partner with the Digital Marketing Manager to optimize all digital marketing channels (Email, SMS, SEO, Paid Social, Paid Search, Affiliates/influencers) and consistently evaluate new growth opportunities. You’ll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a team of passionate and creative people who share a commitment to helping others and changing the health/fitness landscape. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop data-driven, multi-channel marketing strategies that drive and optimize brand growth, acquire new members, elevate member retention, and grow personal training revenue to achieve profit goals
  • Oversee Brand and Marketing, including brand strategy, annual and seasonal planning, member insights, sponsorships, retail marketing, PR/communications, influencers, strategic partnerships, brand content, and social media
  • Develop story-telling and engaging member journey funnels across digital platforms
  • Build and leverage a testing framework using A/B testing to scale high-impact initiatives and deliver maximum return against defined objectives and budgets
  • Together with Digital Marketing Manager, plan website strategy, promotional calendar, content generation, new product or service launches, and marketing campaigns
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in the development and execution of brand and marketing initiatives to ensure proper and timely customer communication
  • Analyze the effectiveness of brand and marketing initiatives through statistics and data, and traffic studies
  • Supervise the department and provide guidance, feedback, and development to marketing team members
  • Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
  • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects


Competencies and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; Advanced degree (MBA) preferred
  • Proven experience as a Director of Marketing, preferably within the health and fitness industry
  • A minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience developing effective strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, promotion, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods
  • Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g., social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels
  • Proficient in MS Office and business software (e.g., CRM)
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with both creative and analytical capabilities
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities
  • A passion for health and fitness
