Job Description
HireLevel is looking for a Industrial Fabricator - Welding & Fit-Up in Carrier Mills, IL
This is a hands-on role requiring the ability to work from fabrication drawings, perform layout and fit-up, and execute welding tasks. This is not strictly a production welding role—candidates should be comfortable supporting the full fabrication process from layout through final assembly.
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Carrier Mills, IL
Shift: Monday Through Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00/hr. (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Fit-Up
· Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
· Perform layout and fit-up of fabricated components
· Prepare materials and assemblies for welding
· Verify measurements and alignment prior to welding
· Assist in assembling fabricated components
Welding
· Perform welding using applicable processes, including:
· FCAW (Dual Shield)
· GMAW (MIG)
· SMAW (Stick)
· Maintain weld quality and shop fabrication standards
· Complete a dual shield weld test as part of the hiring process
Shop Operations
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· Support shop workflow and production timelines
· Assist with material handling and movement of components
· Work collaboratively with shop team members
Quality & Safety
· Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
· Maintain fabrication quality standards and accuracy
· Identify issues early to prevent rework
· Ensure safe operation of shop equipment
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial fabrication, welding, fit-up, or related heavy industrial/shop environments
· Experience working in a fabrication or heavy industrial shop environment
· Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
· Experience performing layout and fit-up of fabricated components
· Hands-on welding experience in a shop environment
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven fabrication shop
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
· Certified welder
· Experience with FCAW (Flux-Core / Dual Shield)
· Experience with GMAW (MIG), SMAW (Stick), or GTAW (TIG)
· Experience in mining, heavy industrial, or structural fabrication
· Experience with layout of complex assemblies
