HireLevel is looking for a CNC Programmer in Carrier Mills, IL
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Carrier Mills, IL
Shift: Monday Through Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
Similar Positions: Machinist, CNC machine operator, Lathe
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00/hr. (Based on Experience)

Responsibilities of CNC Programmer:
- Create and troubleshoot CNC programs for mills, lathes, and plasma equipment
- Interpret blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T
- Build optimized tool paths in Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM systems
- Run simulations and test cuts; adjust for accuracy and efficiency
- Update programs based on design changes or workflow improvements
- Assist machinist with set, tooling, offsets, and work holding
- Provide troubleshooting during production use
- Replacement improvements to tooling, fixturing, and machining strategy
- Ensure parts meet tolerance and engineering requirements
- Work with Quality Control to resolve issues
- Maintain machining notes, tooling data, and revision history
- Identify process improvements and cycle-time reductions
- Support standard work and lean machining practices
Requirements of CNC Programmer:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years CNC programming or machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and fabrication drawings
- Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and CNC operation
- Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Etc.)
- Degree or certification in machinering/manufacturing preferred
- Experience with mining or heavy-fabrication components
- Ability to program from 3D models and complex geometrics
