Job Title: Purchasing & Supply Chain Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time | Contract to Hire

Location: Fenton, MO

Shift: Monday-Friday | 9a - 5p

Responsibilities of the Purchasing & Supply Chain Specialist:

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within the ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21) 
• Verify pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules 
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite critical materials 
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, and delivery issues 
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while supporting supplier performance improvements 
• Coordinate purchasing activities to support production schedules, customer orders, and project timelines 
• Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier information within the ERP system 
• Assist with vendor negotiations, contract pricing updates, and cost-saving initiatives 
• Track supplier performance, late orders, and purchasing metrics 
• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure material availability 
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help streamline purchasing processes 
• Maintain organized purchasing records and documentation

Requirements of the Purchasing & Supply Chain Specialist:

• Associate degree or some college coursework preferred 
• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience 
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor Prophet 21 experience is a plus) 
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel 
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy 
• Forklift certification or experience preferred (training provided if needed) 
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday 
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed 
• Operate warehouse equipment and use common hand tools 
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
