Job Duties for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk:
- Perform assigned tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, receiving and storage of merchandise, picking and packing of customer orders.
- Operates lift trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or storage areas.
- Operates banders.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate supply of inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Ensure order accuracy and efficiency. Supports the shipment of goods produced, the receiving of raw materials and, supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer. Use order packing slips to pack customer orders with bulk and individually packaged items.
- Responsible for deciding for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Operate computer to weigh and label orders.
Job Requirements for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk:
- Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
- Experience with FedEx and UPS software
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must meet requirements for background and drug screening policies
